Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 2026:
Dubai Municipality announced the completion of a new artistic initiative aimed at beautifying 70 infrastructure assets located along Sheikh Zayed Road, stretching from the Dubai World Trade Centre to Dubai Media City. The initiative involved the implementation of artworks designed by Emirati artist Hind Khalid, as part of a project that enhances the presence of local art creativity in public spaces and transforms service elements and infrastructure assets into aesthetic components that harmonize with Dubai’s urban landscape and enhance its attractiveness.

This initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to develop an integrated urban environment that combines innovation, beauty, and sustainability, reflecting the emirate’s continuous commitment to improving quality of life and enhancing the visual landscape in line with its global standing as a leading city in urban design.

The initiative aims to integrate infrastructure assets into their surrounding visual environment through artistic designs inspired by the Emirate’s nature and diverse culture. The artworks reflect Dubai’s natural and urban characteristics in a contemporary style that captures the city’s spirit, soul and evolution. As a result, infrastructure assets are transformed into vibrant artistic features and opportunities that reflect the Emirate’s identity, elevate the quality of the urban landscape, and make Dubai more visually appealing and attractive.

The designs vary between inspirations drawn from the Ghaf tree, symbolizing environmental sustainability, representations of Dubai’s desert nature through sand gradients with palm elements, and some works expressing the emirate’s urban growth and evolving skyline. Together, they present an integrated artistic vision highlighting authenticity, innovation, modernity, and the environmental balance that characterizes the city.

H.E. Eng. Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said:
“This initiative reflects Dubai Municipality’s commitment to developing an urban landscape aligned with the emirate’s identity as a city that combines architectural beauty, sustainability, and wellbeing within a visual framework that adds aesthetic value to the urban environment. Our projects are always centered around a fundamental question: how can they contribute to making Dubai more attractive, sustainable, and livable through a comprehensive experience that creates memorable moments for residents and visitors. This ensures that Dubai continues to be the most beautiful, sophisticated, and progressive city in the world.”

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said:
“The implementation of this project is based on an integrated engineering and artistic methodology that ensures quality and sustainability by merging artistic designs with infrastructure assets in a way that enhances their operational function while giving them a contemporary aesthetic feel and appearance. At Dubai Municipality, we are committed to ensuring that this initiative contributes to developing a balanced urban environment that highlights Dubai’s beauty and the diversity of its components.”

The participation of Emirati artist Hind Khalid in the project reflects Dubai Municipality’s approach to supporting national talents and showcasing local creativity in public spaces. Her works are characterized by blending heritage and contemporary identity through a calm yet expressive visual style. She has previously collaborated on government projects and community initiatives and has received multiple artistic awards.

This project aligns with Dubai Municipality’s objectives of enhancing the urban experience, developing the visual environment, encouraging positive civic behaviors, and highlighting the emirate’s aesthetic vision that combines urban development with human values. It also reflects the municipality’s commitment to elevating the urban landscape and transforming public spaces into platforms that express Dubai’s identity, progress, and cultural richness.
