The project includes the installation of 50 dedicated fountains providing drinking water for birds and wildlife across the emirate, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to environmental sustainability, biodiversity protection, and humane urban development that reflects the values of compassion and coexistence.
The initiative forms part of Dubai Municipality’s ongoing efforts to deliver high-impact, qualitative projects that enhance quality of life and support a balanced environmental ecosystem. Under the project, 25 fountains will be installed in urban areas to serve birds, while 25 fountains will be deployed in desert and natural environments to support wildlife in their natural habitats.
The fountains have been designed and implemented in accordance with best environmental practices, using high-quality, durable materials to ensure sustainability, ease of maintenance, and long-term operational efficiency. All fountains will provide water throughout the year, during both summer and winter, ensuring uninterrupted access for wildlife across seasons.
To further strengthen sustainability outcomes, the fountains will operate using solar energy, adopting environmentally responsible solutions that ensure efficient water provision in line with approved environmental standards.
The project is implemented with the support of a Dubai-based philanthropist through a sustainable charitable endowment, reflecting the values of generosity and social responsibility, and reinforcing the integration between humanitarian initiatives and Dubai Municipality’s mandate to protect the environment and wildlife.
